Ten people believed to have died in attack on house where two brothers, both police officers, and their relatives lived
Iraqi officials say insurgents have bombed a house belonging to two police officers and their families in central Iraq, killing 10 people.
A police officer said the attack took place early on Thursday morning in the Hamia area, about 31 miles (50km) south of Baghdad.
He said the house where the two brothers lived was levelled when insurgents planted bombs around it. Both the male officers and two children under one years of age were among the dead. A doctor at a nearby hospital confirmed the casualty figure.
Both officials spoke on condition of anonymity as they are not authorised to release information.
