• Playmaker made an impact in practice-match victory
• Neil Lennon believes Nigerian midfielder is a real talent
Celtic have announced the signing of the Nigerian midfielder Rabiu Ibrahim, subject to a successful work permit application. The 20-year-old will join on a three-and-a-half year deal after impressing on trial.
The playmaker earned the move after making an impact in a practice match against St Johnstone, when he played 60 minutes of the 3-2 victory. The former PSV player marks Celtic's second piece of transfer business this week, after the signing of the defender Jaroslaw Fojut on a pre-contract agreement on Tuesday.
Speaking of the capture of Ibrahim, Neil Lennon told the club's website: "We have been very impressed by Rabiu. In my view he is a highly talented and exciting young player and someone who will be a tremendous addition to our squad. He is a playmaker, well balanced and a very intelligent footballer. We are really looking forward to him joining us."
